Project Information

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is the largest cultural facility of its kind, it consists of 1.5 million square feet of usable floor space on 17 acres of land. It houses nine theaters, two public restaurants, nine function/special event rooms, five public galleries/halls/foyers, and approximately 83,000 square feet of administrative offices. It attracts over two million visitors annually. The facility is operated 365 days per year. Support systems in the building are typically fully operational in excess of 14 hours per day.

EBL worked with KieranTimberlake to modify and improve the public areas of the Kennedy Center in time for celebrating its 50th year anniversary. The project encompassed modifications and improvements to the Grand Foyer, the Hall of Nations, the Hall of States, the Nations Gallery, the States Gallery, the Atrium Gallery, and the Atrium Gallery Entrance Foyers.

EBL designed the mechanical and electrical portions of the modifications and improvements for the venue.
