Project Information

EBL's role involved the replacement of eight air handling units and the renovation of eleven air handling unit supply fans and return air fans. Pneumatic controls were replaced with DDC at equipment in advance of a building-wide controls upgrade taking place in a separate project. Variable frequency drives were added to supply and return fans. Electrical HVAC support was coordinated with a building-wide electrical upgrade that occurred during the same timeframe.

Specific tasks included extensive field surveys to document existing conditions, HVAC load calculations for proper equipment sizing and selections, evaluation for compliance with VA design and construction standards, and a presentation of recommendations for each system at the initial design submission.

We provided Construction Administration services for this project, including answering of RFI’s, evaluation of proposed change orders, site inspections, creation of punch lists and generation of as-built drawings.
