EBL provided design, construction administration and commissioning services to restore and upgrade the HVAC systems in the Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD.
The Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Center is a facility with three performance stages, and serves as a venue for a wide range of performing and fine arts presentations.
The HVAC systems within the venue were slated for renovation (or replacement) to address system degradation. EBL worked with Flo-Tron Contracting, Inc. and Siemens, Inc. to create designs and specifications for the repair of the facility's air handling units, energy recovery wheels, exhaust fans and pump motors. The engineering effort included design of electrical power circuits for conduits, conductors, safety switches, overcurrent protection devices, access door safety interlocks, and UV lights.
EBL followed up the design work with commissioning plans and functional performance testing and witnessing services.
