This indefinite delivery contract, awarded to EBL in 2000, was for two years. The contract was for mechanical, electrical and civil engineering services for the Naval Research Laboratory.

 

The following are the task order completed under this contract:

 

Midway Research Center Sewer System:  Design for the connection of the Midway Research Center sewer system into the Stafford County, VA sewer system.

 

Provide New Electric Feeds, Building A-69:  Design for the replacement of an existing transformer and the design of new feeders from the transformer and switchgear to existing panels in two buildings.

 

Building 216, Process Chilled Water System:  Design for the replacement of an existing process chilled water system utilizing an existing heat exchanger; New pumps and piping were provided along with approximately 40-valved connections for process equipment.

 

Chiller and Pumps, Building A-50:  Design for a new air cooled chiller to be tied into the supply from the base central plant; An analysis of the existing pipe system was also included.

 

Modifications to Building 250, CBD:  Design of modifications to an existing building to accommodate a sled-mounted, low band transmitter; Modifications included the design of a rail system to allow the sled to slide 3'0' outside the building through an overhead door, a dedicated chiller to cool the transmitter, a new electrical transformer, and electrical service to provide power to the unit.

 

Survey, Study and Report for Building A-47:  Study of existing chiller plant consisting of 5-400 ton chillers; Work included documentation of existing plant, development of as-built plans and schematics, installation of test ports by wet-tapping the system, testing of plant during 3 different season to measure flows, temperatures and pressure to determine actual operation of chiller plant.

 

High Band Test Facility, CBD:  Provided a design for a test facility complete with supporting utilities for the high band test transmitter to be operated out of an existing building; Modifications to the electrical system and extension of existing paving were required; A chiller, dry-air pallet, lightning protection, and clearing off the cliff face were included.
