“Charters of Freedom” Fire Suppression System, Archives II National Archives and Records Administration, 8601 Adelphi Road, College Park, MD

 

EBL prepared design drawings, specifications and an estimate of probable cost for a 1,023 sf area in Archives II to be used to transfer the Charters of Freedom (Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights) into more technically advanced encasements. Work included the design of a new clean agent (FM-200) fire suppression system, demolition and new work to the existing wet pipe fire suppression system, new clean agent fire suppression panel and detection system and connection of the panel to the existing building fire alarm system.  This job was done for the U.S. Department of the Navy.
