Stratemeyer Assumes Presidency Of The Building Congress & Exchange

EBL Engineers, LLC is pleased to announce that Robert H. Stratemeyer, P.E. has moved up to the position of President of the Building Congress & Exchange (BCE) of Metropolitan Baltimore.  His one-year term began effective November 7, 2008 at their Annual Dinner.  Mr. Stratemeyer’s history with the organization includes membership on the Ambassador Committee, a three-year term on the Board of Directors and terms as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President-Elect.

The mission of the Building Congress & Exchange of Metropolitan Baltimore, Inc. is to foster interaction among its members for the exchange of ideas and information, for the improvement of the construction industry and for the education and service to its members and to the community.  As the “umbrella association,  it’s membership includes architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, interior designers, as well as developers, insurance representatives, financial institutions, bonding companies, legal advisors, and other affiliated industry groups.  The strength of the Building Congress & Exchange is the active involvement and diversity of its members.

The Building Congress & Exchange was organized as the Builders Exchange in 1888, incorporated in 1890, and then re-organized in 1936 as a consolidation with the Baltimore Building Congress.  Since 1936 the organization has been known as its present name.  It is the oldest organization of its kind to acknowledge the building trades in Maryland.
