Energy Services Performance Contract, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD
EBL provided engineering services to replace a steam generating asset with a new 8MW CHP (combined heat and power plant), modify the existing high pressure steam distribution system and reclaim water from a ground water decontamination facility for boiler feed water at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Southern Cantonment.
As a result of this project’s implementation, the garrison meets its steam generation needs, reduces its electric purchases, and improves energy security. Construction costs for this project were $36,600,000. The guaranteed savings over 18 years is $107 million.
Additionally Aberdeen Proving Grounds had a positive impact on the environment by annually reducing the annual CO2 emissions by 22,571 tons.
